Abias feels thankful to be a part of Calvary Junior Academy because:

  • of the unique academic standard & excellence that her own children also benefit from.
  • the children are well-behaved; teachers, parents/ guardians promote good morals.
  • school children receive porridge which helps in maintaining children's health.
  • good and healthy network relationships among pupils, teachers, parents/guardians
  • good listening & care given to school community by approachable school director.
  • great fear of God by school which stands on Christian foundation promoted daily through devotions keeping every member focused on human compassion & servant leadership.

Abias is grateful for the support which has made a BIG impact for the school!

"When I joined the school, there was no desired infrastructure, no ample school land, or an attractive study environment. But thanks to God who touched loving & caring hearts, which has tremendously improved the school's physical outlook. We now have land which enables children to participate & practice agriculture, a conducive learning environment in permanent classrooms, a clean, all-weather water source, provision of daily meals to children, and regular teacher salaries despite inconsistent, irregular ability for community support. These things we could not dream of in the history of the school!  It is indescribable the joy to be able to help families of orphans & vulnerable children with secondary students' tuition fees.  Also the sponsorship program, which my own children have received sponsors from, is a blessing.  The lovely & growing pen pal relationship with Fall Creek Elementary is exciting for our whole community as it is helping us to all learn about children thousands of miles away.  Their gift of 2 milk cows is something I thank God for because our children's nutrition improvement will be greatly increased. We benefit so much from this relationship."

  • "One of my favorite memories is when Jen & Michael Cheeseman, another Jen and Lori visited Calvary Junior Academy.  It's a day I knew God existed & at long last He remembers His children even when they seem to be abandoned by everyone. We thank God for this visit where we managed to acknowledge the glory of God through the numerous gifts you brought to us; scholastic & play materials, money, food, flour, bread, & sugar you brought for the school children to eat.  The various prayers for the school community & the great motivation to us for the work we are doing here. All these strengthened us & since that time there have been sincere & basic fundamental, steady improvements in the education service delivery at our school which is being reflected in the children's academic scores & grades.  I share with my family the great thanksgiving for how far we have come & how you have enabled us to survive the waves of poor school incomes.  I am also thanking God for my child whom has had several bouts of disease attacks this last holiday, but is ok.  My prayers continue for the loving & tireless friends who have shown lots of concern for our school geared towards its sustainability. We thank God for all that, we honor & lift high His Holy Name for those families that forego their own family incomes to donate to us for survival.  May the Lord shower all of you with over-flowing blessings.  In Jesus Name, Amen!"

  • What makes me want to teach at Calvary Junior Academy?
  • Director is trustworthy, motivates staff with words of wisdom & above all he is a God-fearing man.
  • Academic performance; Calvary by far has best way of equipping learners with quality, appropriate academic skills mix among all nearby schools.
  • Children demonstrate excellent behavior and smartness.
  • The school family fears God; the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom.
  • Workers behave as brothers and sisters & have a heart of caring for one another in love.
  • School family values people more than working tools.
  • Remarkable improvements in the school infrastructure & consequent study environment making children love their school.
  • Teachers taking unique care for children and take time to play with them.
  • Attending daily morning devotions before commencement of daily duties.
  • God's perfect timing of the donations from dear beloved American friends.
  • Initiative of sponsorship program in our school towards the vulnerable orphans.
  • Restoration of the school project's hope & future which has attracted many more children.
  • Assured monthly remuneration, something that I had never dreamt of at this school in my life.
  • Assured access to safe & clean water from Living Water International hence reducing water & sanitation related sickness among children.
  • Our children sent to secondary schools all are very competent & optimistic for future academic excelling.
  • Provision of meals to our dear orphans & vunerable children, something that has abundantly made the children feel like having a home away from home.
  • Having a sister school in Texas with whom we share ideas with our little children who had totally lost hope in their lives.

"I want to say that I thank God for the gift of life & my family survival. Teaching at Calvary has enabled me to afford to look after my children by providing food for them, tuition fees in their schools, clothings and all other basic necessities."

"One of my most memorable days was when the Cheeseman family visited our school.  To me the school looked like a patient who was at a death point due to lack of blood & someone - this family & friends - donated life-giving blood & reinstated life.  Since then, smiles on our faces have never disappeared.  It was awesome turning point in the life of the school's existence & marked a great new era which has been attained & is being reflected in the love for working in this institution."

"Another great day was when our school won all neighboring schools in the sports competitions this year - 2014.  It was a remarkable day for the children, the teachers and the guardians."

  • He likes this verse because "Esther as a queen had hid her identity as a Jew. But in the time of trouble, she never gave up, she never let her people hang. She fasted until the law against them had to be changed and Haman was hung instead of Mordecai. To make change is everyone's obligation :)"

So thanks to Almighty who sent you to our school."   I thank God for my family and the lives offered & also for the recovery of the dad who has been sick for the last 3 months.  Our prayer to God is that He blesses those committing themselves to helping Calvary Junior Academy.  For God and our school, thank you!"
